Location: Chesapeake, VA

Description: Weekly Pay Summary:

Hourly Pay: $34.00 ($1,224.00 total)
Housing Stipend: $770.00
Meals and Incidentals: $476.00
Total Gross Pay: $2,470.00

Job Details:

Shift: Night (4x12-Hour, 19:00 - 07:30)
Block Schedules: Not accommodated
Job Duration: 13 weeks (Start Date: 05/19/2025)

Requirements:

Licenses & Certifications:

Compact or VA RN License (Required)
BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association)
NIHSS certification

Experience:

Minimum 1 year required (3+ years preferred), travel experience preferred

Skills:

Vents, IV start, Telemetry, PA lines, Conscious Sedation, Neuro IV titration, Insulin IV experience
Strong Neuro experience required

Patient & Unit Details:

EMR System: EPIC proficiency required (No exceptions)
Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Sometimes 1:5)
Bed Count: 24 (Average daily census: 20-24)
Patient Populations:

Pulmonary: Acute respiratory failure, pneumonia, COPD/CHF exacerbation
Cardiac: NSTEMI/STEMI, cardiac cath, AFIB, complete heart block, CMO requiring BIPAP/diuresis
Sepsis, minor trauma, CIWA, DKA requiring insulin drip, and occasional post-op complications

Shift & Float Notes:

Schedule: Nights (Weekdays, every other weekend, holidays within contract)
Float: Required (Expected to float to MedSurg; ratios 1:6 or 1:7 on MedSurg)

Additional Notes:

Local Rules: No candidates within 50 miles of facility (Driver’s license required for address verification).

Flu Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations allowed)
